The future of intellectual property will be decided this week |

Today, the work at the General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) shall initiate, agency of the UN specialized on intellectual property.
The General Assembly of the WIPO, which occurs annually, shall take place from September 25th until October 3rd, 2006, here in Geneva, Switzerland.
The agenda of this General Assembly is especially robust, containing crucial themes for the intellectual property’s future on the world. Issues on protection and access to knowledge are on the agenda, such as i) the Developing Agenda for the WIPO, ii) the substantial treaty on the patent subject, iii) the treaty of radiodifusion and webcasting (bursts via Internet), iv) traditional knowledge, folklore and genetic resources, within others.
